COOCH MUSIC'S AMATEUR SONGWRITING CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Each entry must include:
(a) Completed entry form (or photocopy). All signatures must be original.
(b) Audio Cassette(s) or CD containing 1 song only, 5 minutes or less in length.
(c) Lyric sheet (please include English translation if applicable). Lyrics are not required for Instrumental category.
(d) Check or postal money order for US $20.00 (US currency only).Entries from outside the U.S.A please use International money orders only in US dollars with nine digit routing number, example: Western Union.
If entering using PayPal you must submit your PayPal statement in with your entries.
Cooch Music charges a $20.00 fee for any checks that do not clear.
All entries must be postmarked by Feb 28th, 2010. Any entries received postmarked after Feb 28th, 2010 will be entered into the following contest.
On-Line submissions are valid upon payment to SonicBids. By submitting entries through Sonicbids.com you agree to the terms of the rules and regulations upon payment. Payment is non-refundable.
In order for the contest to run on the posted start date there must be a total of one hundred entries minimum by the deadline date.
If less than one hundred entries are received by the deadline date then the contest deadline will be pushed back one month to March 28th, 2010 .

2. All songs submitted must be original and contestants must hold all rights to the song(s) submitted.
By submitting an entry, contestants certify that the work submitted is original and that they hold all rights.
Contestants further agree to hold Cooch Music harmless and indemnify Cooch Music for any and all monetary liability, including but not limited to attorney's fees,
Cooch Music may incur as a result of the entry of the song in this contest.
Cooch Music will not be responsible for prizes donated by sponsors. Sponsors are responsible for providing prizes to winners.

3. Contestants may enter as many songs as desired but each entry requires a separate cassette or CD, entry form, lyric sheet and entry fee.
ONE CHECK FOR MULTIPLE ENTRIES IS PERMITTED. Entry fee is non-refundable.
Cooch Music Amateur Songwriting Contest is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries.

4. This competition is open to AMATEUR SONGWRITERS ONLY regardless of nationality or origin worldwide.
Contestants collecting an income of under $5000.00 a year on songs recorded through royalities are to be considered amateur songwriters.
If entrant is under 18 years of age, the signature of a parent or guardian is required.
Employees of Cooch Music, their families, subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible.
Cassettes,CDs and lyrics are destroyed and will not be returned.

5. Winners will be chosen by the staff of Cooch Music and J Cooch Music (BMI) Music Publisher.
Songs will be judged equally on originality, lyrics, melody, and composition. Prizes are not awarded in EACH category.
Except if otherwise stated in the prize list. Categories are listed for information purposes only.
The Grand Prize, 1st Place, 2nd Place and 5 Honorable Mention Winners are determined from all categories collectively.
All decisions are final and made at the sole discretion of the staff of Cooch Music and J Cooch Music.
Songs may be in any language. Quality of performance and production will not be considered.
Prizes will be awarded jointly to all authors of any song. Division of prizes is the responsibility of winners.
The winners release sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won.
Shipping, handling and taxes of prizes are the responsibility of the winners.
Entrants and their collaborators will retain full rights to all work submitted for the song contest.

6. Winners will be notified by mail and must sign and return an affidavit confirming that winner’s song is original and he/she holds the rights to the song.
Failure to sign and return the form within 30 days will result in immediate disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected.
Entry constitutes permission to use winners names, likeness and voices for future publicity and advertising purposes without additional compensation.
By entering this contest you grant permission to have your e-mail added to our e-mail and mailing list for future updates and newsletters unless otherwise stated in writing.
Winners will be determined by April 30th, 2010.
Winners list will be posted on the Cooch Music web site(www.coochmusic.com) by April 30th, 2010 or contestants can request a copy of the winners list by sending a SASE to Cooch Music, Box 340, 22 Williams Way South, Baiting Hollow, NY 11933 USA.
