Cooch Music's Amateur Songwriting Contests.

"The First Amateur Only Songwriting Contest in the World" is an international songwriting Contest that began in 1999.
An outlet for Amateur Songwriters to get their songs heard and win an offering on publishing contracts and prizes that are designed to help further their careers in this industry.

Amateur writers can compete with other amateur writers giving them a chance to be recognized for their talent. Unlike other contest which are open to professional and amateurs, the Cooch Music Amateur Songwriting Contest provides an alternative at a cheaper price as well.

Every song that is entered is not only judged for the contest but the staff of J. Cooch Music (BMI) are also reviewing each entry for possible placement with their company.

The Contest is open to amateur songwriters only who submit entries in any one of 10 categories.
Your song may be entered in any of the following categories: (Rock / Alternative), (County), (Pop / Dance), (Folk /World), (Rhythm & Blues), (Hip Hop / Rap), (Gospel/Inspirational), (Latin), (Novelty / Comedy / Children's) and the (“Lyrics Only”) category.

Entries will be judged based upon originality, melody, composition, and lyrics (when applicable). Instrumental compositions are encouraged. Both performance and production value will not be considered during the judging process.

Winners are selected by the staff of J. Cooch Music (BMI) Music Publishing with guest judges from within the industry helping with the finals.

Each entry requires the following elements: One song five (5) minutes or less in length (does not apply to "Lyrics only" category)
A lyric sheet - no lyrics necessary for instrumental compositions
A payment - $20.00 per song -
A completed application
